It all started with Rick building plastic Revell "Glue" Models at age 6,

HO scale Model Train lay-outs at age 8, 

20" BMX Bicycles at age 10,

Skate Boards at age 11,

Boogie Boarding at Blackies in Newport Beach at age 12,

Surfing on an Infinity Kneeboard at the 28th Street Jetty in Newport Beach at age 13,

and finally,

Designing, Shaping, Air-Brushing, and Glassing his first Surfboard (a 5'-6" Twin Fish) 

in his Mom's Backyard and Garage at age 14 (back in 1978)...

 

Made Custom Boards for nearly every Surfer in High School (1979-1982),

then quite a few for Newport Surf & Sport during the years after High School...

 

Eventually "Retired" from "Production" Shaping in 1990 at age 26,

but continued to Shape Custom Boards for self and Friends...

 

Working Full-Time as a California Water/Wastewater Plant Operations Technician

in Orange County since 1989,

and Part-Time as a NASDAQ Real-Time Stock Day-Trader since 1999...
